Hello, my name is Dave Carr. I am an aspiring photographer trying to make the switch from a hobby to possibly making a career doing something I love. I am writing this blog in hopes that you get to know me a little more and also as an outlet to showcase some of my photography work. Upon viewing my work please feel free to critique the pictures. While photography is an artistic expression of the photographer, I believe that utilizing different points of view can only increase one's perspective.
I have loved capturing photographic memories for the last several years. I have mostly shot nature and abstract scenes but I am trying to make the switch to portraits and engagements.
I prefer saying photographic memories instead of taking pictures because anyone can take a picture, but when I take a picture I want the subject to remember where they were, what they were doing, and how they were feeling. I love looking through pictures with older folks because they get a look on their face like they were transported back to yesteryear and you can tell they are reliving the moment. What a cool experience! That is what I hope to bring to the table.
